Statement of Purpose
“To protect and preserve the habitat, ecosystems, and recreational resources of Del Mar Mesa through habitat restoration and enhancement, recreational support, stewardship, research, and education. We support educational and recreational activities that foster an appreciation of the natural environment of Del Mar Mesa.”

Do you enjoy hiking in Penasquitos Canyon? Or maybe biking at Black Mountain? How about bird watching in Carmel Mountain or Del Mar Mesa? No matter how you enjoy our local open space preserves, we’d like to hear about it. Please take 10 minutes to complete a brief survey focused on your nearby open spaces: Del Mar Mesa, Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, Black Mountain, Lusardi Canyon Open Space and Carmel Mountain.

A proposed 450,000 square foot office complex threatens Del Mar Mesa Preserve. The project requires a Community and General Plan Amendment that must be approved by San Diego City Council. Friends of Del Mar Mesa opposes the change and the project. For more information: www.protectourpreserves.org

"Friends" form The Del Mar Mesa Garden Club
Friends of Del Mar Mesa approved, Del Mar Mesa Garden Club as their project on June 24, 2020. The goal is to bring the community together through their love for gardening, promote sustainable gardening practices and live in harmony with nature through education.
We invite you to our monthly meetings every 1st Wednesday of the month at 1:00 pm on-line, until covid restrictions are lifted. DMMGC events are: lectures, plant give away, workshops, private garden visits and field trips. Annual membership $25/ person. All funds will be used to support garden activities. Propsed community project: To develop a native demonstration and garden and educational space in the Elizabeth Rabbitt park.
